a miracle boy. . .

i had the pleasure of donating a silent auction item for Canadian University College‘s Alumni Weekend a few weeks ago. the Ziakris family won the package and were excited to shoot a winter session. they have a special story that i want to share. . .

“Steven is our amazing miracle boy! He was born with a congenital heart defect and has had 2 heart surgeries, with his first one being when he was only 5 days old. He has beaten the odds numerous times over, when the doctors told us that he wouldn’t make it. He is a happy 7 year old little boy who loves life and teaches us on a daily basis the true meaning of unconditional love, acceptance, and a will to survive.”

i had such a wonderful time during our session. i saw much love, laughter, and pure joy!

the Aldrich family kept me laughing our entire session together! you can feel the love between them and see that they always have fun in whatever they do. the girls’ smiles were contagious and they were so full of energy! mom and dad had me smiling too. . . these two are definitely super in love! we almost cancelled due to weather, but i am so glad we didn’t. this was one very enjoyable session!

this is my second session with the Ganson family and the first one was last winter. check out their wintery session here. they are an energetic and enthusiastic bunch always ready for adventure! they are always game to try different poses and i love that they always give it 110% they are the last family in my mini session series and they had beautiful light that resulted in stunning images!

another returning family to my mini sessions is the Pallister family! i photographed them 2 years ago during my first ever mini session series! these guys are full of fun and jokes! they always bring props with them and it’s super fun watching them interact with each other! they totally entertain me and i am so happy to have had the opportunity to photograph their family again this year!

they came back this year for my mini sessions, and little E has definitely grown into a big boy and full of energy and zest for life! he sat on the fall leaves 3 years ago, but this time it was way more fun to play!

up next in the mini session series is the Dubyna family! these guys know how to play! when they played together it was apparent that there is a lot of laughter in that family and they know how to have fun. . . .they reminded me that it’s good to always play!

Little Mr. E celebrated his 4th birthday with family here in Canada. He was visiting from the States, so I was extremely flattered and honoured that they chose me to capture this milestone in his life! Watch out. . .his smile is contagious!
